Can you guys make a list of upgrades you'd recommend for a 99 GSR w/ JRSC and AEM CAI? I've heard that the fuel system is important to consider, but I'm not sure where to start. Also, any recommendations for exhaust/header systems? JR has a "twin flow" exhaust on their website, but I hear it's not available until next spring. I'm looking for a quiet, subtle exhaust that will increase power.

    Thanks for the help!

I'd start with a fuel pump if you don't already have it and an Apex VAFC and either the JR BTC or MSD BTM. For a header I would go with a 4-1 like the kooks/AXZ, JDM Type-R or Kamikaze. For exhaust, the greddy power extreme is pretty nice although I think that custom woudl be the cheapest.

a VAFC= Apexi new Vtec/Air Fuel Controller It will adjust the fuel & air, while also giving great controll over the VTEC kick in point.

BTM= Boost Timing Master You will probally hear about the BTM when bringing up MSD 6BTM. Its an ignition system, with a boost timing controll device built in. It allows you to adjust the timing thats dependant on boost.

BTC=Is JR's new device thats a Boost timing controll. It will adjust the fuel/timing map on the car in the programmed rpm spots. The BTC is similar to the BTM however the BTC is built for the crappy Honda timing/fuel/air, etc... curves. Its highly recommended over the BTM if you have a Honda.

I hope that helps decode our criptic language. smile

the btc is better than the btm which is why i sold mine.. the btm looks at timing 4 times per revolution, and the btc looks at it 40 times per Revolution

If you are sticking with 6psi you do not want the Kamikazi header, you will loose more than you gain.

For 6psi go with the 4-2-1 DC sports header, and get it tuned, with cam gears on the dyno. While you are there have the tune the fuel.

The VAFC is much more usefull on ITR's than it is on GSR's. GSR's don't have the super-rich at high rpm problem.

Corpse: Were you at DSR today and dropped off your blue teg to get a belt adjustment? I wish I would have known, cuz I would of said hi. I was in the office when you dropped it off. Oh well, maybe next time. Nice car by the way. I love the sleeper/stock look! wink

Anyway, yeah the Kamakaze does gain across the band in some cases. In Neuxome's case, he did gain across the band. Check his old posts, and you will find his plot. Since Lawerence found the piece I need for the header, I hope to put it on this Fri, and dyno. I should get a nice gain I hope. However my computer is working against me right now.

    Yeah, that was me.
Car is awesome now! No more belt squeak. Woohoo! I am so happy.
The guy with me has a Garrett-chipped S4 - makes about 320hp - I can pull on him til about the end of 3rd gear... only from a rolling start, though - damn quattro hooks up fast!
    What were you driving?
